Suggested Geology Field Trips Two
field trips in different areas of the Foothills would provide a hands-on, under-your-bootsoles
way to see classical features of geology and the big-picture dynamics that are
shaping the land. The trips would be designed for easy access and last up to two
hours. Each trip would be tailored to fit the age and ability of the participants.
The geological features of each trip are listed below:

Precautions
Field trip routes generally follow easily accessed
terrain on paths and dirt roads. However, some "cross-country" hiking
would be necessary. It is important to remember that the ecology of this terrain
is fragile. We will be visitors in an area that is home to many small animals
and insects. A few of them can be harmful to humans if disturbed or frightened.
Ecologically respectful behavior is highly encouraged by the Foothills Coalition.
